Biography
I'm Gordon — a photographer based in London, originally from a quiet part of the South West where I first picked up a camera with absolutely no idea what I was doing. It started as something to do, honestly. But it stuck, and eventually it became the thing that got me out into the world.
I studied photography at University College Falmouth, surrounded by people making brilliant work and the influence of photographers I still look up to. That time shaped how I think about pictures — the patience involved, the craft of it, and what a photograph can do when you get it right.
I've been in London for over a decade now, splitting my time between personal work and assisting on advertising, fashion, and lifestyle shoots. My own stuff sits somewhere between documentary, portrait, and travel photography — I don't worry too much about where one ends and the other begins. Whether it's a stranger on a roadside in Mexico or a quiet moment on a London street, I'm drawn to real life. The unpolished stuff. The human stuff.
I also shoot studio portraits and fashion work — it's a different kind of energy to being out on the street, but I love the control of it. Shaping light, stripping things back, getting something out of someone in front of the lens that feels honest even in a more constructed setup.
Photography has taken me across continents, onto chicken buses and late-night trains, down roads I had no business being on. It's taught me that the best moments rarely look like postcards.
I'm always up for commissions and collaborations — whether you're round the corner or somewhere I haven't been yet.
